While deciding on the topic for my next blog post, I realized that it had been quite a while since I did one for writing prompts. We writers are always looking for ideas, so I thought I'd add a fifth installation to the ongoing series. After all, there's nothing like a good writing prompt to spark the imagination! The following prompts are a little wacky, a little weird, and a few even turn cliches on their heads. They also cross several potential genres. Enjoy! Writing Prompt #2 “I am small but mighty.” “Yeah okay, mmm-hmm. I’d be more inclined to believe that if you hadn’t just run from the toaster.” Writing Prompt #4 “Wings are more trouble than they’re worth, let me tell you.” “But you can get places so much faster!” “Bumping into someone on the sidewalk in no way prepares you for mid-flight collisions. Let's walk.” Writing Prompt #6 “When she said she could probably burn water, I didn’t realize I was supposed to take it literally.” Writing Prompt #8 “I hate to be rude, but you really are the personification of a headache.” Writing Prompt #10
“Back in my day, children, we had the sun.” ------------------------------ Want more? • Creative Writing Prompts I • Creative Writing Prompts II • Creative Writing Prompts III • Creative Writing Prompts IV • My Writing Prompts Board on Pinterest
